WEBJun 17, 2006 · I've got an old (circa 1989) Nashbar touring frame that would work, but it's steel so it weighs a ton (30+ lbs. built up), it takes 26" wheels, and to top it off, the brake studs in back are positioned for U-brakes (too high to use cantilevers).

The frame was built for Nashbar by Maruishi – a Japanese builder not as well known as others, but still producing a beautifully brazed machine of double butted cro-mo steel.

WEBI think I found the answer to my own question after some quick digging around... I'm 95% positive that this is a Maruishi-built bike for Nashbar, and specifically a rebranded Maruishi Tourace. Was considering deleting this thread but will leave it up for the future if anyone else happens to be searching for the same info.

After some poking around... I'm pretty certain that this is a late-80s to early-90s Maruishi-built Shogun Alpine GT. Pretty slick bike.
