OCHOPEE, Fla. (AP) — The first group of immigrants were scheduled to arrive Wednesday night at a new detention center deep in the Florida Everglades that officials have dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz,” the state’s attorney general said.

The first detainees who will be held at a Florida-run immigration detention center deep in the Everglades are expected to arrive on Wednesday night.

An employee said the company isn't setting up the immigration detention site, Alligator Alcatraz, and is only providing meals for workers.
