Carlos Alcaraz kept his Wimbledon three-peat campaign chugging along by beating Jan-Lennard Struff 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 on Centre Court on Friday to reach the fourth round.

It is widely accepted that Alcaraz and Sinner are the two standout players at Wimbledon, with an ageing Djokovic hoping to spoil the party having swapped his tag as a Wimbledon pantomime villain and the least popular of the Big Three in favour of a much-loved figure in SW19.

Alcaraz’s unseeded opponent was ranked 125th in the world and was competing in the Wimbledon third round for the fourth time, having never gone beyond. The Spaniard ensured the wait continues for the 35-year-old, who was a 2018 Australian Open doubles semi-finalist.
