Jordan Martinook scored a go-ahead shorthanded goal in the second period to help the Carolina Hurricanes beat the New Jersey Devils 3-1 on Tuesday night for a 2-0 lead in their first-round playoff series.

Simon Nemec’s goal at 2:36 of the second OT was the winner, giving the Devils their first win of the series. Game 4 of the best-of-seven series will be played Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

Jordan Martinook continued to haunt the Devils in the postseason, posting a goal and an assist as the Carolina Hurricanes beat New Jersey in Game 2.
