Hartford firefighters used ladders to rescue people from a smoky apartment building on Sisson Avenue during a fire Friday morning, a department official said.

Firefighters used ladders to rescue several people from a fire at an apartment building in Hartford on Friday morning and one man was taken to the hospital to be evaluated for possible smoke inhalation.

A fire at an apartment building in Hartford late Wednesday displaced 17 people. Firefighters responded to a three-story, 12-unit apartment building on Rowe Ave. at 8:17 p.m. and found a fire on the second floor extending to the third floor,

A building was deemed uninhabitable following a fire in Hartford Friday morning. Officials say that the blaze broke out at around 8:49 a.m. in the area of Sisson Avenue. Crews arrived on scene and quickly knocked down the fire.
