Montgomery police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Friday night, WSFA reported. The shooting happened in the 6000 block of Sherburn Road in south Montgomery. Police and fire medics responded to the scene about 6:20 p.m. and found a man who had been shot, WSFA said.

At least 11 people were wounded in separate shootings during the July 4th weekend in Chicago, police said. The first incident was reported at approximately 11:11 p.m. Friday in the 4800 block of South Justine in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. In that shooting, two suspects approached a crowd of people and opened fire, police said.
