It was revealed during MagicCon: Chicago that the next Magic: The Gathering crossover appearance in the D&D multiverse is a crossover book that will flesh out Lorwyn-Shadowmoor, a plane that has appeared in multiple sets in the card game.

Magic: the Gathering has officially announced its next major "Universes Beyond" crossover, bringing Avatar: the Last Airbender to the card game.

"Each Commander deck for Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY tells the story of an individual game from the franchise, letting you relive playing FINAL FANTASY VI, FINAL FANTASY VII, FINAL FANTASY X, and FINAL FANTASY XIV in a brand-new way," the press release said.

Tarkir: Dragonstorm, perhaps the most metal name for a Magic: The Gathering expansion since Aether Revolt, arrives on April 11. As the name suggests, the new set returns to Tarkir, a dimensional plane where dragons live alongside five rival houses, each with their own ideologies and relationships to the chaotic and occasionally benevolent reptiles.

The trailer features the MTG logo doing some impressive airbending, with the familiar sounds of the show’s original opening in the background. The Gathering sets at MagicCon: Chicago today, including one that’s pushing MTG into the edges of the universe. Edge of Eternities is billed as a “adventure-filled, science-fiction space opera” — can I get a “hell yeah” to that?

The Gathering already gone on Amazon. eBay sales of pre-orders are breaking the Terms of Service, due to the set not coming out till June. Fans advised to wait for wider availability of sets, as Wizards of the Coast will produce plenty.
