Per the Fox broadcast, Michigan has never beaten a No. 1 team, but the Wolverines came pretty dang close in this one. This game proves that this U-M team can compete with any team in the country, even if they trail 20 points in the first half.

Senior forward Josh Eernisse gave Michigan (12-3, 5-2 Big Ten) a two-goal cushion with 2:02 remaining, deflecting a Tyler Duke shot in front. Eernisse had one goal last season and already has seven this year. Hughes picked up an assist for his third point of the game.
