Texas and the Czech Republic have had a military relationship since 1993 as part of the National Guard Bureau's State Partnership Program pairing states to train with countries around the world.

The airspace above Vancouver International Airport had to be shut down on Tuesday after someone “hijacked” a small plane. The suspect flew a stolen Cessna 172 north for about 40 miles and then began circling, prompting air traffic controllers to divert nine planes to other airports.

🔁 Camp Beauregard is back. The Louisiana National Guard Training Facility in Pineville was previously named for Gen. P.G.T. Beauregard but lost that title in 2023 during a push to remove Confederate names from public places.

A Department of Homeland Security memo from June, describing the Pentagon’s findings, said that the group, publicly known by the nickname Salt Typhoon, “extensively compromised a U.S. state’s Army National Guard network” from March 2024 through December 2024. The memo did not specify which state was affected.

The trial of former National Guard member Daniel Carpenter started Tuesday morning in Burleigh County with jury selection.
