Benoit wins Game 3 in OT, Maple Leafs on verge of sweeping Senators
OTTAWA -- Simon Benoit scored at 1:19 of overtime to give the Toronto Maple Leafs a 3-2 win against the Ottawa Senators in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference First Round at Canadian Tire Centre on Thursday. Auston Matthews won a face-off in the left circle back to Benoit, whose slap shot beat Linus Ullmark through traffic.
The Senators are down 3-0 to the Maple Leafs in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Travis Green is disheartened.
