New Orleans has confirmed a second case of neuroinvasive West Nile virus, with a third under investigation. Mosquito spraying begins tonight.

The individual lives in Plum Borough, an eastern suburb of Pittsburgh. They are recovering at home, according to the county, and no further details about their identity are expected to be released.

Due to the spread of tiger mosquitoes, France is now reporting rising numbers of cases of what were previously considered to be 'tropical' diseases such as chikungunya, Zika, dengue fever and West Nile virus.

An advisory was issued Wednesday after several local sentinel chickens tested positive for West Nile virus. A human infection was reported in Clay County in the week of August 10-16.
