President Trump has won a legal fight over his power to dismiss the heads of certain regulatory heads, but the Federal Reserve Board remains off limits for now.

A U.S. Supreme Court ruling Thursday in a legal battle over President Donald Trump's firing of two federal labor board members contained a line that eased, for now, worries that the cases could open the door for Trump to fire Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell at will.

In a social media post last month, Trump gave the Fed chair the nickname “Too Late” and mused about his termination. “Too Late should have lowered Interest Rates, like the (European Central Bank), long ago, but he should certainly lower them now. Powell’s termination cannot come fast enough!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post April 17.
