The Patriots are in desperate need of a young left tackle to protect quarterback Drake Maye’s blindside. They get their tackle of the future with Wyatt Milum, a bruiser along the offensive front with the ability to contribute right out of the gates.

In my first mock draft, I explored what the New England Patriots could do if pass rusher Abdul Carter were to fall to them at pick No. 4. In this one, I will take a look at how things could pan out if he and Colorado’s Travis Hunter are both gone once the Patriots are on the clock.

The Patriots see an opportunity to climb back up the draft board late in the first round to get their franchise left tackle, Ohio State’s Josh Simmons. It is unlikely Simmons will slide too far down the draft board, even after a season-ending knee injury.
