Post-Tropical Cyclone Jerry was causing rough seas far from land early Oct. 12 as National Hurricane Center forecasters shifted their focus to Invest 97L out in the Atlantic, and the nor'easter heading away from Florida toward many coastal states to the north.
After growing into a hurricane, Gabrielle, the seventh named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, is gaining steam, but is not expected to make landfall.
From there, long-range computer models have continued to suggest for days that the system could strengthen into Tropical Storm Jerry and follow a forecast track that’s grown familiar this season — a northern curve away from the U.S. and the rest of the Caribbean but in the direction of Bermuda.
While Tropical Storm Imelda isn't expected to make landfall in the U.S., it could create life-threatening riptides on the East Coast.
