Indonesia has issued a tsunami warning for northern Sulawesi and Papua regions after a strong earthquake hit the southern Philippines on Friday, Indonesia's geophysics agency said.

A number of buildings have developed cracks in their walls since the earthquake hit, including an international airport in Davao city.
