David Corenswet's search for "Superman" turned inward. The 31-year-old actor stars as the red-caped superhero in James Gunn's new film relaunching the DC Comics movie universe.

Ahead of making his debut as the Man of Steel, Superman star David Corenswet turned to two fellow Kryptonians for guidance — and got some eerily similar advice from them both.

"He's a great actor. I mean, some might say he's better than David in certain ways, but he just didn't fit the role, and that's why he didn't get that," the director said of Hoult, who plays Lex Luthor in the new movie.
