An earthquake could be felt in El Paso a little after 10 p.m. Friday night, Feb. 14. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, there was a 4.9 magnitude earthquake about 30 miles northwest of Toyah, Texas in Reeves County.

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Some El Pasoans felt shaking from an earthquake late Friday night. Reports of an earthquake were felt across most of El Paso and the surrounding area. At around 10:23 p.m., a 4.9 earthquake occurred with an aftershock of 2.6 at around 10:28 p.m., according to the United States Geological Survey.

The earthquake happened around 10:23 p.m. MT, nearly 33 miles northwest of Toyah, Texas, about 190 miles from El Paso.
