And while we'd love to spend a little more time reflecting on some of those fantastic Sweet 16 games, this tournament waits for no one, four of those seven remaining games coming up in the next 48 hours.
The Elite Eight round of the 2025 NCAA basketball tournament begins on Saturday, March 29, and continues Sunday, March 30, with two games each day.
In the opening round, the Red Raiders set an NCAA tournament record with 46 three-point attempts in a win over UNC Wilmington. Darrion Williams and All-American forward JT Toppin have since taken over, both scoring 20-plus points against Drake and Arkansas. Texas Tech recovered from a 16-point deficit to stun Arkansas in the Sweet 16.
Auburn, Florida, Tennessee and Alabama are in an Elite Eight field that matches 2007 for best in NCAA Tournament history
Houston faced a stern test from Purdue Friday night winning 62-60 on a last second driving layup from Milos Uzan. The Boilermakers rallied in the final minutes from a five-point deficit to tie it with under three seconds to play only to see Uzan score two of his game-high 22 points to secure the win for the Cougars.
All four No. 1 seeds, three No. 2s and one No. 3 remain in the men's NCAA Tournament, proving this season was all about the top teams in the sport.
