Suffolk County Sheriff Steve Tompkins is set to appear in federal court on Thursday to be arraigned on corruption charges. Tompkins’s appearance at the John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse in the Seaport was moved from Wednesday to Thursday earlier in the week due to a “scheduling conflict” noted in court records.
The moment captured on video was shared on social media by journalist Meghann Cuniff. It showed the judge reading the verdict in the trial of a man, Alton Oliver, charged with the fatal 2022 shooting of a Fulton County sheriff's deputy.
