Patty Gasso and the second-seeded OU softball team opened their NCAA Super Regional with a shutout of Alabama. Here's a recap of the win.

To that point, the Oklahoma ace had shut out 15-seeded Alabama in the opening game of the Norman Super Regional, but Crimson Tide designated player Alexis Pupillo doubled into the right field corner with no outs. OU was on top 3-0, and it represented Alabama’s best chance to get back into the game.

OU softball was struggling a bit when they faced Alabama in an SEC series about a month ago. Since dropping that series, though, the Sooners are on a roll.
