YouTube TV and Paramount have agreed on a multi-year deal to keep CBS, MTV and the other 100 plus channels owned by the network on the platform.

Paramount and YouTube TV have reached a new carriage deal, averting a blackout of programming of the former’s sports, entertainment and news networks — including CBS, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.

YouTube TV announced a deal to keep Paramount channels on its platform had been reached Saturday night, ending a public contract dispute.

YouTube TV and Paramount Global renewed their carriage deal for CBS, MTV, Comedy Central and 20 other channels on the service.

YouTube TV and Paramount have agreed to a short-term deal extension to avoid a blackout of CBS, YouTube announced late Thursday. Paramount wanted a rate hike. Their existing deal expired at 1 p.m. ET on Feb. 13.

YouTube and Paramount were struggling to reach "a fair deal," potentially causing all 30+ Paramount channels to disappear. That crisis was avoided.

In an eleventh-hour agreement late Thursday night, YouTube TV reached what it called a "short-term extension" with Paramount to keep channels such as CBS, Comedy Central and MTV on its subscription streaming service after access to them was set to go dark following failed negotiations around a contract renewal.

YouTube TV and Paramount have solidified a long-term agreement, ensuring that popular channels like CBS, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, and MTV remain accessible on the platform. This resolution follows a period of tense negotiations that nearly resulted in a blackout of these channels.

YouTube TV has reached a deal with Paramount to avoid cutting off subscribers’ access to certain channels, including CBS, CBS Sports and Nickelodeon. Earlier this week, YouTube TV announced in a blog post that Paramount content would be removed from its platform after February 13 because the two had failed to reach “a fair agreement” that would keep those channels available.
