Iran’s attempt to strike a US-UK base over 2,000 miles (over 3,000 kilometers) off its coast has renewed questions about Tehran’s military capabilities and how far its missiles can reach.

The US is continuing to "aggressively" strike Iran after President Trump imposed a five-day pause on attacks against Tehran's energy infrastructure following "very good and productive conversations" with the crumbling regime.

The combat forces would come from a brigade of about 3,000 soldiers capable of deploying anywhere in the world within 18 hours.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent defended strikes on Iran's infrastructure since the U.S and Israel's joint operation began, saying "sometimes you have to escalate to de-escalate."
