Iran Accelerates Production of Near Weapons-Grade Uranium
A report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) cautioned that the Islamic Republic of Iran is producing a large amount of uranium that could be used in six atomic bombs.
Iran’s stockpile of uranium enriched just below the level needed for nuclear weapons surged more than 50% in the last three months, defying mounting pressure on the Islamic Republic to curb its atomic activities.
The report says that as of Feb. 8, Iran has 605.8 pounds of uranium enriched up to 60%, up by more than 200 pounds since the IAEA's last report in November.
