The Cleveland Browns have been cautioned about looking for a way out of Deshaun Watson's contract after he suffered a second Achilles injury.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns hold the second overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, and Deshaun Watson’s uncertainty for the 2025 season could lead to selecting a quarterback.

Deshaun Watson broke his silence following a setback in his return to the field, sending a clear message about his mindset moving forward and the situation he finds himself in with the Cleveland Browns.

With that said, Browns insider Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland/The Land on Demand recently suggested that Cleveland could pass on Ward and Sanders to target Alabama's Jalen Milroe during the draft. Milroe had the previously mentioned Rees as his offensive coordinator during the 2023 college season.

The Browns made an interesting coaching change on Tuesday, moving coach Bill Musgrave to QB coach ahead of the 2025 season.

The Cleveland Browns have the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming 2025 draft, but there appears to be little chance that they can improve much no matter how they use it. The Browns won only three games last season and lost controversial quarterback Deshaun Watson to an Achilles injury.

Watson has dealt with injury after injury, all while being utterly ineffective on the field. He has gone 9-10 as the Browns' QB, with a passer rating of 80.7. His 2024 season ended with a torn Achilles tendon. He tore the tendon again this month and had a second surgery to repair it.

Production has not matched talent to this point, but Williams has top-five traits — not unlike former Georgia (and current Jacksonville) standout Travon Walker, who was the No. 1 pick in 2022. Williams is a projection as much as anything right now, but if he tests off the charts, he might not make it this far.
