U.S. Rep. James Comer has asked four Democratic mayors to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

As the federal crackdown on immigration continues​, Mayor Eric Adams has been to testify on NYC's sanctuary city status.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu is being called on to testify before Congress as Boston is singled out for its sanctuary city policies, with similar letters going out to four mayors over their jurisdictions’ so-called “sanctuary city” status.

Comer sent the requests to the mayors of Boston, Chicago, Denver and New York City, and invited the mayors to testify in front of the committee on Feb. 11.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is calling on Adams and the mayors of three other cities to testify, claiming they are refusing to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. CBS News New York's Jenna DeAngelis reports.

“The next day a GOP consultant close to both Kushner and Representative Kevin McCarthy called telling me that I needed to change my statement,” Comer writes in his new book, “All the President’s Money: Investigating the Secret Foreign Schemes That Made the Biden Family Rich.”

Despite his absence, Adams has remained active on social media, posting frequent updates, particularly regarding the ongoing ICE deportation efforts in New York City.

Representative James Comer has asked the mayors of Boston, Chicago, Denver and New York City for documents and information on their sanctuary policies.
