Nolan Arenado and Starling Marte are in similar situations during spring training. However, the Mets outfielder has chosen a different approach than the Cardinals star regarding trade rumors.

The Cardinals owe Gray $25 million this season, $35 million next season, and the club option is for $30 million with a $5 million buyout. Between that money and the $64 million they still owe Arenado, St. Louis has too much tied up in aging veterans for a team that's not all-in on winning this season.
