A document said to have been leaked from a local UAW chapter suggests that the renowned version of the Mustang will be back with an engine named 'Legend.'

A document that appears to come from the UAW's Dearborn contingent is brimming with excitement over a new engine and where it will find a home.

A document purportedly from the United Auto Workers union claims the GT500 will return for 2026, packing an engine called 'Legend.'

A leaked memo from Ford's Dearborn Engine Plant says to expect a staffing increase this fall for the upcoming GT500's new mill.

While any purported document should be taken with a grain of salt, one recently surfaced on Reddit and was allegedly from UAW Local 600, which is based out of Dearborn, Michigan. Its members work at the Dearborn Engine Plant, Dearborn Stamping, and the Dearborn Truck Plant.

The last Mustang Shelby GT500 hit the dealerships in 2022, but it sounds like Ford is ready to bring the GT500 back with a pretty significant upgrade.
