Trevor Rogers took a shutout into the seventh inning, helping the Baltimore Orioles secure a 6-3 win over the Boston Red Sox.

There was a sense of déjà vu as Rogers befuddled the Boston bats; the Orioles southpaw made his season debut against the Red Sox on May 24, a scoreless gem in which he yielded only two hits over 6.1 innings en route to a 2-1 O’s victory.

The Boston Red Sox lost first baseman Triston Casas to a devastating knee injury in May. The 25-year-old had struggled early in the season, but carried high expectations to return to his prior form in which he put up a 129 and 124 OPS+ in 2023 and 2024 respectively.

The loss — the Red Sox' second straight — dropped them to 2-2 on their homestand, in need of a victory on Tuesday to claim a winning record in this stretch at Fenway before heading to Yankee Stadium for the weekend.

9) Abraham Toro put the Red Sox ahead 3-1 in the seventh with an RBI sac fly after Abreu and Romy Gonzalez hit back-to-back singles to lead off the inning. Gonzalez’s single deflected off Junk’s foot into right field.
