Ukraine attacked Moscow on Sunday with at least 25 drones, forcing the temporary closure of two of the city's major airports, Russian officials said, in what was the biggest Ukrainian drone strike on the Russian capital to date.

Ukraine launched a drone attack on a Russian chemical plant in the western city of Tula overnight on Friday into Saturday, according to the country’s security service. Russian authorities have not acknowledged the attack.

Huge fires erupted in the Moscow region as officials claimed that the Russian capital and surrounding area were hit by a drone strike. Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, wrote on Telegram on November 10: "The air defence forces of the Ministry of Defense in the Ramenskoye urban district repelled an attack by two drones flying to Moscow.

Russian drones attacked Ukraine's Black Sea port of Odesa overnight, killing one person and injuring 13 others, including two boys, regional governor Oleh Kiper said on Saturday.

The claim comes as Ukraine, over the past several months, has intensified its efforts to strike deep into Russia using homemade drones, targeting arms depots, airfields, and oil refineries to weaken Russia's combat capabilities from a distance.
