COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s Bo Jackson had his black stripe removed Thursday. The freshman running back is a product of Cleveland who attended Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School. He was a four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Running back Lamar Jackson, or Bo as he’s nicknamed, won’t be the first-string or even the second-string running back for the Buckeyes this year. Those roles will go to sophomore James Peoples and C.J. Donaldson, the senior transfer out of West Virginia.
Ohio State coach Ryan Day handed Sayin the job following a spirited competition with Lincoln Kienholz and freshman Tavien St. Clair. Sayin, measuring in at 6-foot-1 and 208 pounds, backed up Will Howard last season, mostly appearing in mop-up duty.
