Family and friends of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother are gathering Friday at a church where their bodies have been brought for a wake and funeral, after the Portuguese soccer players were killed in a car crash in Spain.

The Portuguese forward died with his brother André Silva in a car crash in Cernadilla, northern Spain, police said. Jota had married less than two weeks earlier.

Liverpool have been the big spenders of the summer transfer window thus far and the club’s supporters are understandably exuberant over the flurry of activity.
