NEW YORK (AP) — General Motors is recalling nearly 600,000 vehicles across its Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC brands in the U.S.

This is a major update to a story I posted yesterday. GM investigated 28,000 complaints of engine problems.

The decision will leave the ratings-challenged network searching for a way to keep its ratings from falling off a cliff.
