Ken Killmeyer’s Subic Bay and Olongapo memories when his ship, the USS Forrestal, CVA 59, was docked at Subic Bay on July 18, 1967. After leaving Subic Bay, the Forrestal suffered a major fire on July 29, 1967 where 134 sailors were killed.
