Illilouette Fall is one of Yosemite’s lesser-known gems – a stunning waterfall that plunges about 370 feet (113 m) into a rugged granite gorge. It’s fed by Illilouette Creek, a major tributary of the Merced River. Unlike Yosemite, Vernal, or Bridalveil Falls, this one stays more hidden from view. You won’t see it from the Valley floor, but you can catch some of the best close-up views from the Mist Trail on the way to Vernal and Nevada Falls, or from the Panorama Trail between Glacier Point and

Hiking along the Panorama Trail, you’ll catch some pretty amazing views of Vernal and Nevada Falls. Vernal looks smaller from up high, but you can still see the mist drifting up when the water’s really flowing. Nevada is much bigger and has that roaring sound that carries across the canyon.
